Sphere Entertainment closed 2025 with stronger-than-expected momentum, reporting $1.22 billion in annual revenue, up 8% year-over-year, and a sharply reduced operating loss of $229.6 million, an improvement of more than $140 million from 2024. The company’s adjusted operating income surged to $261.8 million, up 138%, reflecting the strength of its flagship Las Vegas venue and the runaway success of The Wizard of Oz at Sphere, which surpassed 2.2 million tickets sold and generated roughly $290 million at the box office. Fourth‑quarter results were particularly strong, with revenue rising 28% to $394.3 million and operating income swinging to a $28.9 million profit from a steep loss the prior year.

The Sphere segment alone grew revenue 62% in Q4, driven by higher per‑show earnings and an expanded schedule of Wizard of Oz performances. The company emphasized that these results validate the Sphere business model and support the company’s expansion plans, including a full‑scale Sphere in Abu Dhabi and a newly announced smaller-scale Sphere at National Harbor outside Washington, D.C. The National Harbor venue will seat 6,000 and is expected to open within four years, backed by a mix of public and private funding.
Metallica residency at the Sphere
Adding to that momentum, Sphere confirmed one of its most anticipated announcements yet: Metallica will launch an eight‑show “Life Burns Faster” residency in October 2026, continuing the band’s No Repeat Weekend tradition with entirely different setlists across each pair of shows. The residency will leverage Sphere’s signature technologies — the world’s highest‑resolution wraparound LED display, Sphere Immersive Sound, and multi‑sensory 4D effects — to deliver what Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich called “completely uncharted territory” for the band’s live experience. The run positions Metallica as the next major act to harness Sphere’s immersive capabilities, following the venue’s blockbuster residencies from U2, Dead & Company, and others.
We are music fans at Yosick Law
The Yosick Law team was recently at the Sphere to see the Eagles and it was an amazing experience. The visuals are nothing like anything I had seen before. I highly recommend taking a trip to Vegas to see a show! We are also planning a trip to see Metallica.
